Bastian has continued to improve throughout his year training BJJ and today he got to see his own improvement when coach promotoed him to Grey/White. We are so pround of his effort and dedication!
In youth BJJ the way that the Coach is able to visually show that the kids are making progress is to stick a piece of tape on their belt. At B's level it is 5 white stipes and a red stripe before progressing to next belt color. Well.
Congratulations to Bastian on medalling in both categories! Bastian had a great tourney out in Columbia. We carpooled with another BJJ family out -- the kids had a great time. All of Midwest JJs kids did great and several including Bastian brought home medals. Huge props to Noah for toughing

Bastian kicked butt in his first competition ever! He competed in Gi and No-Gi and earned 2nd place in both categories. We are so proud of his toughness through some of his fights!
B was not feeling well at class on Thursday. During warmups he left the mat with tears that his head was hurting and he was hot. He was told that should try his best even if that is just sitting with Coach and watching the other kids work their techniques.
